CoRePublisher is a powerful, yet lightweight, file distribution tool to publish your IBM Cognos BI reports to SharePoint and other enterprise CMS & file sharing systems.
It features dynamic and conditional logic to transfer reports to other content management systems. Any report metadata, such as author, prompts and report name can be used to manage the report publication process in a smart and secure way. These data can also be filled out automatically in the CMS fields.
Currently the following target systems are supported: Microsoft SharePoint (2007/2010/2013), an FTP server, a folder or network share, Dropbox, Box.net, Liferay, WebDAV, DB Blob field, HTTP Put service. And, thanks to CoRePublisher’s open API, every other CMS, Version Control or Auditing system that also has an API which allows you to programmatically access it, can be addressed by writing your own target module.
Frequent Use Cases
- Publish to corporate portals, SharePoint, FTP
- Publish to non Cognos stakeholders
- Enable access for mobile users
- Archive for legislative compliancy
- Use data as source on other systems
- Manage smart file distribution
- Automate manual processes

Smart Publications
CoRePublisher can use any report metadata to define publication rules and target parameters. You can use the report author, report name, report folder, burstkey and even prompt values selected when running the report in Cognos Connection, to dynamically and conditionally publish to your targets. This makes it easy to work with, yet very versatile.
Extended File Functionality
Once published to a target system, the report can be handled like any other file in that system. In Microsoft SharePoint for example, you can make use of automatically filled out metadata columns, lists and views, or Microsoft SharePoint’s versioning capabilities.
